Crowns, Inlays, and Onlays

Esthetic Crowns Look Natural

Cracked or broken teeth can cause pain and be unsightly, but you probably don't want a metal crown in your smile. Dr. Layton places crowns on damaged teeth to restore strength, beauty, and integrity. Worn-out fillings or teeth with cavities too large for composite fillings may benefit from inlays or onlays, rather than a dull crown. Ceramic crowns, inlays, and onlays look and feel like natural teeth, so you won't have to worry about tarnishing your beautiful smile.

Crowns can be made of ceramic, gold, or porcelain fused to metal. Dr. Layton prefers to place white crowns on teeth in the smile zone, but back teeth often require metal restorations for longevity. At your visit, Dr. Layton will prepare your tooth, take an impression for the lab, and place a temporary. Our domestic dental lab will use fine ceramic or other dental material to fabricate your crown, inlay, or onlay. At your follow-up visit, Dr. Layton will permanently attach your restoration with strong dental cement. He'll then asses your bite to ensure proper alignment and optimal comfort.

If you need a crown or other restoration, call Dental Images today for an appointment with Dr. Layton. We’re located in Oklahoma City, convenient to Edmond, Bethany, and Yukon.
