Dental Implants

For patients with missing teeth, Dr. Kevin Layton works closely with a periodontist and an oral surgeon to oversee all aspects of dental implant treatment. Implant are surgically embedded in the patient’s jaw. Upon healing, the implant serves as a firm base for a bridge, crown, or denture.

Dental Bridge

If you are missing one to three teeth, you may be a good candidate for a dental bridge. Dr. Layton offers both traditional and implant-supported bridges, restorations made of artificial teeth. Dr. Layton will ensure that your dental bridge looks virtually identical to natural teeth.

Dental Crowns

A traditional crown is used to protect a damaged tooth and an implant-supported crown can replace a missing tooth. By reinforcing structure and enhancing your smile, crowns provide cosmetic as well as oral health benefits. Dr. Layton generally uses porcelain and ceramic crowns, due to their strength and aesthetics.

Whether you are missing some or all of your teeth, dentures can restore oral health, function, and appearance. Dr. Layton offers both traditional dentures and implant-supported dentures. Implant-supported dentures offer unparalleled stability. However, traditional dentures generally cost less.

Inlays and Onlays

Dental inlays and onlays are custom-made restorations that repair decayed, cracked, or fractured rear teeth. They are more structurally supportive than fillings and only require minimal tooth preparation, compared to a full dental crown.

Once a cavity has been treated, Dr. Layton uses tooth-colored composite resin to aesthetically strengthen the tooth. Compared with amalgam, composite resin fillings generally require less tooth removal and have a lower incidence of cracking the remaining tooth structure.
